Birthwise
“why did no-one tell me this could happen?”
Too many women ask this when coming in for a postnatal appointment – why did no-one tell them about the risks and potential pelvic floor damage with different birth types and interventions.
Research demonstrates that high quality pelvic floor and birth trauma education decreases both:
- your chances and severity of pelvic floor trauma and
- significant psychological distress if you do experience pelvic trauma
In this workshop you will learn:
- all about your pelvic floor, where and what it is, its function, how to connect to it
- how your pelvic floor changes in pregnancy
- what your pelvic floor needs to do in birth
- the potential risks of common birth interventions to your pelvic floor
- how you can determine your individual risk factors
- things you can do to support your pelvic floor for birth
- also Includes information on the impact of Caesarean birth on your core and pelvic floor
The session closes with a short somatic practice for pelvic floor connection, awareness and relaxation to support your birth and pelvic health.

Peri/menopause is having a moment, and more and more women are coming to understand the enormous shift that occurs at this time of life. With over 35 different symptoms, peri-menopause presents in different ways for women and can be a confusing time.
